Chetana Nepal (CN) works towards
strengthening the capacities of such
children so that they can meet their
basic needs, in away that will be
sustainable in the future. We work
directly with Children and also with
their families, helping them to break
away from discrimination based on caste,
disability gender and social status. By
facilitating process that empowers
families, they can assume an active and
decisive rule in addressing their own
problems. We aim to avoid creating
dependencies among those with which we
work and act as a catalyst for genuine
and lasting social change. Our primary
responsibility is to arrange support for
needy children well being.

Education
Chetana Nepal provides education
using the private and public school
system of Nepal for primary and
secondary study. They also provide an
appropriate study area within the center
and a tutor to assist with homework and
extra curricular activities, once the
children complete the SLC between the
ages of 16-18 preparation will be given
to the young adult for independence
living.

Accommodation
Chetana Nepal provides accommodation
for the children within the center. The
children are provided with a safe and
clean living environment which will
assist with their personal development.

Healthcare
Chetana Nepal provides high standards
of health care with accommodation, food
and medical access. All children are up
to date with immunizations and are
provided with medical treatment when
necessary.

Access to Family
Chetana Nepal understands the
importance of the children keeping a
relationship with relatives that care
available with their communities, so the
children know where they are from and
who their family members are. Access is
given to the children is school holidays
period and any other time that is
available during the year, when it
doesn’t interfere with their school
work. Chetana Nepal’s staff will
activate this on a minimum of once a
year per child.

Child Protection
Our community and nation-level
initiatives help protect children who
were in harm’s way during the recent
conflict. Though local child protection
committees livelihood, educational and
emotional support to children associated
with armed forces and armed groups and
other vulnerable children. This is
reinforced by media awareness
activities, legal aid for vulnerable
children & the tracing of lost children.
We support conflict-affected families
and communities so that they can create
a long-term peaceful environment for
their children through mediation and
peace building activities.

Other Activities
Chetana Nepal provides activities to
the children with toys, books, music
instruments and outing to various places
within pokhara. |
